John Ahlvin, 70, entered into rest on Friday, August 31, 2018.
John was born on January 24, 1948 in Joliet, Illinois to the late George and Evelyn Tatroe Ahlvin. With pride and honor, he served his country in the United States Air Force retiring after twenty-two years of dedicated service. John worked at the 78th Medical Group during his tour at Robins Air Force Base and during his civil service career. He was an avid woodworker who had a passion for camping and traveling, having been to forty-six states to include Alaska and Hawaii. Following his retirement on December 31, 2012, John and Sandy spent their time camping, fishing and traveling. His love for traveling followed him until his last days as he passed away in England prior to a Baltic cruise.
His memory will forever be treasured by his beloved wife of forty-seven years, Sandy; daughter, Debbie Langston (Jim) of Marshallville; son, John Ahlvin (Choya) of Griffin and grandchildren, Devon, Michael, Cal, Mandy and J.T.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior. Afterwards, John will be laid to rest in Parkway Memorial Gardens.
