John Bryan Stokes passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at the age of 47.
Born in East Ridge, Tennessee on November 27, 1974, he was the son of George Washington Stokes, Jr. and Betty Calhoun Stokes. John attended Warner Robins High School and loved to spend his Sundays watching his favorite preachers on television. He was an avid fan of WWE as well as his beloved UGA.
Left to cherish John’s memory are his father, George Washington Stokes, Jr.; mother, Betty Calhoun Stokes; sister, Angie McGraw (Mac) of Forsyth; special cousins, Ken and Judy McCallum of Brooks, Georgia; and nieces, Taylor McGraw and Kelly Shugart.
The family will receive visitors from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 18, 2022, at Bonaire United Methodist Church. His service will be held at 11:00 a.m., immediately after visitation at the church. He will be laid to rest in Bonaire Cemetery. Reverends Tim Long and Dewain Joiner will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made in memory of John to the American Cancer Society, 804 Cherry St., Suite A, Macon, GA 31201.
