John B. Morris, Jr., 75, entered into rest on Wednesday, February 11, 2009.
Mr. Morris was born on May 22, 1933 in Whiting, New Jersey. He served his country with pride and honor as a pilot in U. S. Air Force, participated in the Vietnam Conflict and retired with 20 years of service, having attained the rank of Major. His awards include the Bronze Star, the Air Medal and the Purple Heart. He subsequently worked for Mercer University as a systems analyst; he was a long time member of Shirley Hills Baptist Church and recently the Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his wife, Berniece Arthur Morris, and parents, John B. Morris, Sr. and Erma A. Septor.
His memory will forever be treasured by his daughter, Gail Findley, Stockbridge; son, Michael W. Morris, Summerfield, Florida; grandchildren, Katie Findley and Terriane and Chad Morris; and sister, Judith M. Lewis, Rapid City, South Dakota.
Visitation will be on Monday, February 15, 2009, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at McCullough Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 17, 2009, in Andersonville National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Azalea Estates Assisted Living, 105 Autumn Glen Circle, Fayetteville GA 30215 or Hospice Advantage, 101 Yorktown Drive, Fayetteville GA 30214.
