John Daniel Brewer, Jr.

John Brewer, 72, passed away on Thursday, June 14, 2007.

Mr. Brewer was born on November 19, 1934 in Lumber City, Georgia. He was an active member of Shirley Hills Baptist Church where he was a Deacon, Assistant Sunday School Director, Sunday School Teacher and Church Bus Driver. TSgt. Brewer was a veteran of the United States Navy as well as retired from the United States Air Force having served during the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He also retired from Robins Air Force Base where he worked in civil service as an Equipment Specialist. His father, John Daniel Brewer, Sr., preceded him in death.

He will be missed by his loving wife, Carolyn Brewer, Kathleen; daughters, Carolyn “Cookie” Brewer, Kathleen; Janet B. Duffield (Steve), Kathleen; son, John “Danny” Brewer (Shelley), Gaithersburg, MD; mother, Monterie Brewer, Lumber City; grandsons, Christopher, Nathan, Jonathan, and Samuel; brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Linda Brewer, Fayetteville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Virginia and James Colson, Eastman; Sue and Gene Sammons, Lumber City; and adopted family, Lafern Long and Vicki Ackermann, Hinesville.

Visitation will be Saturday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 17, in Shirley Hills Baptist Church with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Shirley Hills Baptist Church Building Fund, 615 Corder Road, Warner Robins, Georgia 31088 or to Heart of Georgia Hospice, 103 Westridge Drive, Warner Robins, Georgia 31088.
