John David Aycock, beloved son and father, passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, September 14, 2021. He was 40 years-old.
John was born on March 6, 1981, in Macon, Georgia. He grew up there and attended Georgia Southern University. A brilliant Network Engineer, John worked for Cisco Systems in Lawrenceville, GA, then Comcast, in Denver, CO. His intelligence often led to mischief; when John was in high school, he hacked the school's computer system. Upon returning from suspension, the school district offered him a part time IT position.
In 2009, John's daughter, Lyla Monday Aycock, was born and in 2011, John's son, Murphy Robert Aycock, was born. John was an attentive and loving father; the distance between Georgia and Colorado did not keep them apart. John was devoted to his children and they shared a special bond. John was passionate and adventurous. He lived for the love of his family, friends, and fun. He traveled to more places in his short 40 years than most people will in a lifetime. John had a heart of gold and touched the lives of all who knew him.
John is survived by his mother, Donna Aycock; his father, Johnny Aycock; children, Lyla and Murphy Aycock; a host of extended family members; and countless friends from Georgia to Colorado.
A memorial gathering will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 2, 2021, at McCullough Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life honoring John’s memory will immediately follow at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of McCullough Funeral Home, 417 South Houston Lake Rd., Warner Robins, GA 31088.
