John Davis ''J.D.'' Post

John Davis "J.D." Post, 83, entered into rest on Tuesday, July 1, 2014.

J.D. was born on February 12, 1931 in Macon, Georgia. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for three and a half years and retired from Ralston-Purina after eighteen dedicated years. A much-loved member of the Brushy Creek Black Powder Club, J.D. enjoyed camping, joshing, hunting and gardening. He called Bloomfield United Methodist his church home.

His beloved wife of fifty-nine years, Sara Ann Post; daughter, Deborah Gale Post; and parents, Marion Davis Post and Eunice Mae Sutton, preceded him in death.

J.D.'s memory will forever be treasured by his loving children, John Davis "Dave" Post (Betsy Kay) and Lisa Post Showker (Doug), both of Macon, Georgia; grandchildren, Casey Brown (Jason) and Erin Post; great-grandson, Judson Brown; brother, James Post; sister, Jerry Brooks; stepbrother, Douglas Sutton; stepsister, Doris Everett; and a host of adoring nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Saturday, July 26, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at 2474 Allen Way, Macon, GA 31206. Memorial services will be held on Sunday, July 27, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at Bloomfield United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Bloomfield United Methodist Church, 5511 Bloomfield Road, Macon, GA 31206 or to Pine Pointe Hospice and Palliative Care, 6261 Peake Road, Macon, GA 31210.
