John Defoe Culverhouse

May 26, 1944 — January 26, 2021

Lifelong Warner Robins resident John Defoe Culverhouse, age 76, went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 26, 2021.

A faithful servant of God, John spent time each morning reading his Bible. He was a dedicated, active member of Southside Baptist Church for 21 years, formerly serving as a deacon. A doting grandfather, John loved his family with all of his being. In his spare time, John enjoyed fishing.

He was born in Warner Robins on May 26, 1944, to the late Brady Wyatt Culverhouse and Eula Belle Hudson Culverhouse. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his grandson, Justin Culverhouse. At a young age, John joined the U.S. Navy and proudly served his country, for which he was awarded the National Defense Medal. After the Navy he worked at AT&T, formerly Bellsouth, for more than 40 years.

Those who survive John and will cherish his memory are his wife of 55 years, Sharon Culverhouse; sons, Jonathan Culverhouse (Nicole) and Rodney Culverhouse (Wendy); grandchildren, London Mingo (Michael), Jordan Culverhouse, Abigail Culverhouse, Ellie Culverhouse, Hunter Culverhouse, Miraya Culverhouse; great grandchildren, Caleb, Gabriel, Penelope, and Quinn; sister, Patsy Cone; and mother-in-law, Kathleen Arnold.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Southside Baptist Church with a service following at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place afterward at Magnolia Park Cemetery. For friends unable to attend at this time, the service will be streamed live via the McCullough Funeral Home Facebook page at www.facebook.com/mcculloughfuneralhome/live/.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made in John’s memory to Heart of Georgia Hospice, 103 Westridge Drive, Warner Robins, GA 31088.
