John Franklin Payne, Sr., 81, entered into rest on Tuesday, September 9, 2014
John was born on April 16, 1933 in Eastman, Georgia. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was in charge of the maintenance program of F-15 airplanes and retired as a GS-11 Engineer from Robins Air Force Base. John was a member of Christian Hope Church where he served as a deacon. He was also an active member of the Woodmen of the World.
His parents, Otis and Annie Hooks Payne, and siblings, Annie Ray Woodrum, Edward Payne, and Margaret E. Payne, preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his sweetheart of fifty-eight years Elizabeth S. Payne of Warner Robins; children, John "Butch" Payne, Jr. of Warner Robins, Cindy E. Payne of Perry, and La Wanna Payne Williams of Bonaire; granddaughter, Kristin Moncrief of Perry; grandson, Clay Moncrief of Perry; siblings, Dewitt C. Phagan (Ellen) of Cedar Grove, Ameryal W. Payne (Mary) of Byron, Pat Stephens (David) of Eastman, and George W. Payne (Sue) of Macon; brother-in-law, James Stephens (Merle) of Hawkinsville and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 11, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 12:00p.m. on Friday, September 12, 2014 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
Flowers will be accepted, or memorial donations may be given to the building fund of Christian Hope Church, 1600 Elberta Road, Warner Robins, GA. 31093 in memory of John Franklin Payne, Sr.
