John Henry Padgett, Jr.

John Henry Padgett, Jr., 91, entered into the arms of the Lord on Friday, June 23, 2017.

John was born on May 16, 1926 in Fitzgerald, GA to the late John Henry Padgett, Sr. and Viola Smith Padgett. A farmer in his younger years, John retired Civil Service from Robins Air Force Base. He was a member of numerous senior center groups to include Warner Robins, Centerville and Ted Wright. When John was not spending time with his devoted children and adoring grandchildren, he enjoyed fishing, golfing and hunting. He was a member of Houston Lake Baptist Church and the Son Shiners Sunday School class.

On Friday, John joined his beloved wife, Thelma Louise Padgett, son, Larry Padgett, granddaughter, Angie Moody and parents in Heaven.

His memory will forever be treasured by his devoted children, Elaine Moody (James) of Warner Robins, Alan Padgett (Patsy) of Perry and Terry Padgett, Sr. (Addie) of Dublin; grandchildren, Jim Moody, Brandon Moody, Bobby Padgett, Jennifer Heisterkamp, Kimberly Nowell, Terry Padgett, Jr. and Shane Padgett; eleven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; sister, Betty Jean Bradford (Robert) of Gray and brothers, Bill Padgett and Thomas Padgett (Janice), both of Fitzgerald.

Visitation will be Monday, June 26, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at Houston Lake Baptist Church with funeral services following at 3:00 p.m. Afterwards, Mr. Padgett will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation for the Physicians, Nurses, caregivers and Heart of Georgia Hospice for their efforts and kindness in caring for our daddy.
