John Ishmael "Pete" Tyson

John Ishmael “Pete” Tyson, 74, passed away on Saturday, January 15, 2005 at Houston Medical Center. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 18, at First Baptist Church, Warner Robins with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Monday, January 17 at McCullough Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church, 1135 Watson Blvd., Warner Robins, GA 31093.

Mr. Tyson was born December 15, 1930 in Nashville, Georgia to the late Howard and Ethel Pittman Tyson. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Warner Robins and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Mr. Tyson was a retired Tech Sergeant with the United States Air Force. Preceding him in death were brothers, Ethridge Tyson and Byron Tyson and sisters, Pauline, Lois Atkinson and Lucille McLendon.

Survivors include, loving wife, Barbara Walters Tyson, Warner Robins; daughter, Phyllis Prater, Bonaire; son, Gregory Tyson (Beth), Warner Robins; sister, Robbie Nell Webb (J.P., Sr.), Nashville, Georgia; sister, Elaine Duncan, Yulee, Florida; sister, Marjorie Boone Phelps (Roland); Lenox, Georgia; and Sharon Waller (David), Valdosta, Georgia; grandchildren, Jesse Prater (Michelle), John Prater, Nichole Wheeler, Jackie Wheeler and great-grandson, Michael Prater.
