John Joseph Pfeiffer

John J. Pfeiffer, 84, entered into rest on Sunday, July 17, 2011.

Mr. Pfeiffer was born on August 13, 1926 in Trenton, New Jersey. With pride and honor he served his country in the United States Navy, serving during WWII. John began his career with Squibb Pharmaceuticals in 1951 as a Research Associate, moving to Sales in 1958. After a series of sales and sales management assignments, he became Squibb's Chicago Sales Manager in 1964. He was promoted to Group Product Manager in the company's headquarters office in 1965, and was named Director of Market Planning in 1968. He became Vice-President of Market Planning in 1972. He also served as President of Winthrop Laboratories, a company he joined in 1974. John joined Astra Pharmaceutical Products, Inc. as President in 1977. Earlier in his career, John was an educator in a secondary school. He held a B.S. degree in Chemistry (1949) and an M.B.A. (1956). Both degrees were earned at Rutgers University. Above all his many distinguished accomplishments in his career, he was a loving husband and father. John was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. His parents, John and Mary Bumbera Pfeiffer, preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his wife of forty three years, Myra Catherine Pfeiffer, Kathleen; children, Lauralee Seibold and her husband, Andeas, Waxhaw, North Carolina; Margo Pfeiffer, Warner Robins; Kristine Pfeiffer, Kathleen; grandchildren, Lauren C. and Julia A. Seibold, Mariah, Miles, Maya, Tristan, and Trinity Langshaw; brothers, Raymond and Thomas Pfeiffer; and so many other loving family members and friends.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations in memory of Mr. John J. Pfeiffer to the American Heart Association, 5962 Zebulon Road # 359, Macon, Georgia 31210.
