John Simmons, 65, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, February 23, 2017.
John was born on November 21, 1951 in New Britain, Connecticut to the late Howard and Joan Waller Simmons. A proud United States Air Force Veteran, he worked for Pratt and Whitney, Marion Manufacturing, and Blasé Manufacturing. John spent 12 years with Headquarters, Company 1 Fire Department, Southington, Connecticut as an EMT and volunteer firefighter, rising to the rank of Captain. He moved to Warner Robins, Georgia in 2009 to be closer to his family who he loved dearly.
In his retirement years, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle, cooking and spending time with his three dogs.
He leaves his memory behind with his loving children, SMSgt. Eric Simmons, USAF (ret) and his wife, Pamela of Hallandale Beach, Florida and Maj. Tina Erickson, USAF (ret) and her husband, David of Warner Robins, Georgia; stepdaughters, Kerri Bruno and her husband Dave and Jennifer Conlan, both of Hebron, Connecticut; grandchildren, Joseph Erickson, and Tyler, Tanya, and Harleigh Simmons; and brothers, Arthur Simmons of Milesburg, Pennsylvania and Howard Simmons of Barkhamsted, Connecticut.
A memorial gathering will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 27th at McCullough Funeral Home.
