John Keller McNees, 89, entered into rest on Monday, June 21, 2010, at Atlanta Emory Hospital.
Mr. McNees was born on May 23 1921, in Harrison County, Kentucky, and was a Lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). With great pride and honor, he served his country in the United States Army and served in World War II for nearly four years. He later retired from Dayton Press in Ohio, where he worked for forty-one years. He was preceded in death by his parents, John N. McNees and Frances Lake McNees; half-brother, William McNees; and nephew, Steven McNees.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of sixty-four years, Marjorie Hill McNees; children, Donna (William) Wilson, Warner Robins, and John C. (Peggy) McNees, Dayton, Ohio; brother, Paul (Betty) McNees, Frankfort, Kentucky; grandchildren, William Thompson and Lisa Wilson; great-grandchildren, Andrew Wilson, Steven and Angela Hickman.
Visitation will be Friday, June 25, 2010, from 10:00 p.m. until 11:00 a.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 25, 2010, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Georgia Veterans War Memorial Cemetery, Milledgeville.
