John L. Newton, Jr.

John Lynn Newton, Jr., 65, entered into rest on Wednesday, December 24, 2008.

Mr. Newton was born on December 31, 1942, in Augusta. He raised his sons as a single parent and always remained close to them and involved in their lives. He was a former active member of the Warner Robins Jaycees. He was predeceased by parents, John Lynn Newton, Sr. and Louise Godowns Newton, and sister, Georgia Dean Newton.

His memory will forever be treasured by his sons, Wes Newton, Warner Robins and John L. Newton, III, Augusta; and grandchildren, Kristine, Raegan and Jonathan Newton.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 15, 2009, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the American Lung Association of Georgia, 2452 Spring Road, Smyrna GA 30080-3862.
