John R. “Rev” Martin, 86, entered into rest on Friday, August 16, 2024.
John was born on March 30, 1938, in Cookeville, Tennessee to the late Dallas and Gusta Martin. John grew up in Warner Robins and graduated from Warner Robins High School in 1958. From there, he enlisted in the United States Army and honorably served a term of four years. Following his military service, he began working at the United States Post Office for a short time, then became an aircraft mechanic on Robins Air Force Base, retiring in 2010 after 36 years. In his free time, John was an avid golfer who took the courses every single day. He will be deeply missed by those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
His memory will forever be treasured by his daughter, Michele Morgan (Chuck); grandchildren, Matthew Morgan (Alley) and Lauren Morgan; great-grandchildren, Savannah and Sadie Morgan; sisters, Patsy Spinks and Peggy Willis (Mickey), along with a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and friends.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 24, 2024, from 3:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow at 4:30 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Afterward, John will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Mausoleum.
