U.S. Army Veteran, John Michael Pierce, passed away in the early morning hours of Saturday, January 15, 2022, at the age of 65. He was born in Macon, GA on October 26, 1956, to the late Carlo and Geneva Fields Pierce. A painter by trade, John loved his truck, fishing, telling stories and supporting the Georgia Bulldogs (GO DAWGS!) and the Atlanta Braves. He will be remembered by everyone as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, who will be thought of on all the important days in their lives, and on the regular ones, too.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Ronnie Pierce, Connie Howard, Diane Greenman and Carl Wayne Pierce.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of 48 years, Donna Jean Pierce; children, Jonna Mossman (Matt Howard) of Centerville, Amber Pierce (Ramona Jeanette Swearingen) of Bonaire, Jarrad Pierce of Warner Robins and Jade Pierce (Quake Kirkland) of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Alyssa Mossman, Destiny Mossman, Kinady Mossman, Grayson Swearingen, Blakely Swearingen, Trinity Ritch, Jordan Byrd, Karter Pierce and Jayden Kirkland; great-grandchildren, Beckham Peters and Emberleigh Ferry; siblings, Larry Pierce of Atlanta, Judy Bailey of Warner Robins, Twyla Hammonds of Cordele and Chris Pierce of Bonaire; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 19, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 20, 2022, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home, with Reverend Terry Hedden officiating. John will be laid to rest in Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery that afternoon.
