John Olin Mauldin

January 15, 1971 — March 26, 2022

John Olin Mauldin of Eatonton passed away following a brief illness on Saturday, March 26, 2022. He was 51 years old.

A 1989 graduate of Warner Robins High School, John was born and raised in Middle Georgia. He was the son of Guildford M. Mauldin, Jr. and Donna J. Thompson Tina. After high school, John began working as a carpenter. He went on to build homes for Mike Wood Builders before starting his own business, Flat Rock Builders, where he did finishing work. During his younger years, John fueled his love of music by becoming a DJ for radio stations WPGA 100.9 and for Q106. In his spare time, John could be found hunting arrowheads, reading, or collecting matchbox cars. His favorite cars were Mustangs or any other fast Ford. John had a heart for animals who were hurting and would rescue and rehabilitate them. He even rescued a chicken and a donkey. John was also part of coordinating and judging Berry’s Tournament Trail, a local fishing competition.

Left to treasure his memory are his parents, Guilford M. Mauldin, Jr. and Donna J. Tina (John); son, Kyle Ingram (Carrie Howell) of Eatonton; daughter, Ashley Moran (Jeff) of Eatonton; brothers, Clint Mauldin of Bonaire and Trey Mauldin of Mad River, California; grandchildren, Dylan Howell-Mixter, Sadie Moran, and Felix Loki Howell-Ingram; niece, Hannah Mauldin; and step-sisters, Allison Strickland and Tracy Brantley, both of Sandersville.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at McCullough Funeral Home. John’s service will immediately follow visitation at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest privately. For friends and family unable to attend, the service will be streamed live via the McCullough Funeral Home Facebook page at www.facebook.com/mcculloughfuneralhome/live/.
