John R. “Moe” Everts, 69, entered into eternal rest on Monday, June 14, 2004 in a local hospital. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 18, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment with Full Military Honors following in Glen Haven Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 7 until 9 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home.

Born in New Douglas, Illinois, Mr. Everts was the son of the late Dewey and Stella Everts. He was a 21-year veteran of the United States Air Force and worked at Flint Electric for 17 years as a Derrick Operator before his retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Joe Everts.
Mr. Everts is survived by his wife, Barbara Everts, Kathleen; children: Brenda Holmes (Brad), Oreana, IL; Michael Everts (Tammy), Cheryl King, Johnny Everts, Rodney Everts (Stacey), and Derrick Everts (Marsha), all of Russellville, MO; stepchildren: Dennis Blackburn, Austin, TX; Debbie Barlow, North Tonawonda, NY; and David Blackburn (Andi), Warner Robins; sister, Aileen Kirk, Livingston, IL; 16 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
