John Richard Norris

John Richard Norris, 80, passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2022.

Mr. Norris was born on March 14, 1942 to the late Floy and Ruby Norris. He often spoke with great delight of his 32 years of dedicated service as a civilian employee working in electronics at Robins Air Force Base. Richard loved animals, especially cats, enjoyed yardwork, fishing, making the world laugh, and spending time in his man cave watching his beloved Braves. He was a generous and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Richard made an impact on everyone he came in contact with and will truly be missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Gloria Carden Norris of Warner Robins and his brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Mary Ann Norris of Wrightsville. Richard is survived by his children, Natalie Norris Lollis (Chip) of Perry, Jeff Norris (Kyoko) of Atlanta, Sonya Norris Dykes (Joey) of Vidalia, Stephen Norris (Michelle) of Athens, Michele McDonough of Warner Robins and Michael McDonough (Brandi) of Byron; 18 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Judy Norris and Patsy Palmer (Alan), as well as several nieces and nephews.

Visitation with Richard’s family will be on Friday, July 15, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Richard will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery after the service.
