John S. Wilson

July 2, 1929 — June 29, 2022

A Korean Conflict veteran, John S. Wilson passed away peacefully at Hazel Colson Hospice House on Wednesday, June 29, 2022. He was 92 years old.

Born in Monticello, Georgia, on July 2, 1929, John was the son of the late Coile and Nellie Wilson. He served in the United States Navy as a young man. Following his time in the service, John worked on Robins Air Force Base as an equipment specialist for several years until his retirement. A man of God, John attended of Pleasant Hill Primitive Baptist Church and Beaver Creek Primitive Baptist Church. He also enjoyed playing guitar and spending time with his family. John especially loved spoiling his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife, Rena T. Wilson; and siblings, Sara Stokes, Bobby Wilson, Chester Wilson and Coile Wilson.

His memory will forever be treasured by his children, David Wilson (Natalie) of Warner Robins, Fran Alger (Jim) of Greensboro; Sherri Wilson of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Kasey Sellars (Jody) of Ellaville, Corey Alger of San Diego, California, and Nicholas Alger of Camp Humphrey, South Korea; great-grandchildren, Sutton Sellars and Olivia Sellars of Ellaville.

A visitation for John’s family and friends will be held on Friday, July 1, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. John will be privately laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in memory of John S. Wilson to Pleasant Hill Primitive Baptist Church, 600 S. Pleasant Road, Warner Robins, Georgia 31088, or to Beaver Creek Primitive Baptist Church, 112-118 Sandefur Road, Kathleen, Georgia 31047.
