John Stephens Goldston, 86, entered into rest on Tuesday, June 16, 2009.
Mr. Goldston was born on November 8, 1922, in Danville, Kentucky. With pride and honor he served his country in the United States Army Air Corp during World War II. Former owner of Gold Motors, Warner Robins, the second president of the Warner Robins Jaycees, member of the Houston Lake Country Club, a 32nd Degree Mason, and member of the Al Sihah Shrine Temple in Macon where he served as Chief Aid to the Grand Potentate. He was also a member of the Georgia College and Georgia High School Officials Association, having refereed for over thirty years. He called First United Methodist Church of Warner Robins his church home. His parents, Earnest Goldston and Beulah Stephens Goldston, preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of fifty-seven years, Winifred "Winnie" Goldston; daughters, Patty (Alan) Ray, Byron, Georgia, and Jeanie (Ken) Nielsen, St. Petersburg, Florida; grandchildren, John and Janna Niles and Kurtis Nielsen; and three great-grandchildren, Chase, Donovan and Riley.
Visitation will be Friday, June 19, 2009, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2009, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home, Jack Brown officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
