John William Lewis, Sr.

John Lewis, Sr., 50, passed away on Monday, December 7, 2015.

John was born on January 19, 1965 in Fort Valley, Georgia to the late Clinton Lewis, Sr. and Georgia Lewis. He was a member of Warner Robins High School Class of 1983, attended Shirley Hills Baptist Church, and was a locksmith at the Houston County Board of Education for 33 years. He was a devoted family man; he enjoyed hunting, grilling, fishing, and watching University of Georgia and Georgia Southern Football. John was very proud of his son and daughter who both are graduates of Georgia Southern University. He will truly be missed by his beloved family.

His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of 31 years Sherri Rowland Lewis of Warner Robins; children, Jake Lewis (wife, Jennifer) of Statesboro and Staci Lewis of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Cooper Lewis and Caroline Lewis; and siblings, Sheryl Middlebrooks (husband, Ronnie) of Albany, Bubba Lewis (wife, Lynn) of Jeffersonville, Robert Lewis (wife, Cindy) of Perry; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Wednesday, December 9, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 10, 2015 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Following the service, John will be laid to rest in Oaklawn Cemetery, in Fort Valley, Georgia.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of John Lewis, Sr. to Georgia Canine Rescue and Rehab, 235 Mac Thompson Rd. Cochran, Ga 31014.
