John Youngblood, 79, entered into rest on Saturday, October 17, 2015.
John was born to the late Will and Willie Belle Youngblood on February 5, 1936 in Leesburg, Georgia. With pride and honor he served his country in the United States Air Force, having fought during the Korean Conflict. After his military service he worked at Robins Air Force Base as a Civil Service Telecommunications Specialist for twenty seven years. Upon his retirement he owned and operated Modern Shelving Company for thirty years. His final and most rewarding employment was his security position at the Robins Air Force Base Museum of Aviation. He was a mason and member of Tyrian Lodge 111, a Shriner with the Al Sihah Temple and a member of Christ United Methodist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Thurman Youngblood, Mary Day and Jimmy Ayers.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of thirty-five years, Ann Youngblood, daughter, Wendy Filer (Keith) of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Ian, Chase and Grace Filer; siblings, Henry Youngblood, Edward Youngblood, Renvia Stripling and Wallace Youngblood and extended siblings, Elaine Harvey, Roney Ayers, Wayne Ayers and Jeff Ayers.
Visitation will be Tuesday, October 20, 2015, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Christ United Methodist Church. Afterwards, John Youngblood will be laid to rest in Parkway Memorial Gardens.
The family will accept flowers or donations may be given in memory of John Youngblood to Christ United Methodist Church Apportionments Fund, 511 Russell Parkway, Warner Robins, Georgia 31088.
