Johnie Madry, 80, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, April 1, 2016.
Johnie was born on February 29, 1936 in Athens, Alabama to the late Raymond Leroy and Gracie McMunn Madry. He was a proud Army Veteran retiring from both Robins Federal Credit Union and from civil service at Robins Air Force Base. Mr. Madry called Southside Baptist his church home and was a member of the Amazing Grays Sunday School Class.
He leaves his memory behind with his devoted wife of 54 years, Sadie Madry of Warner Robins; children, Tammy L. Oakes (Dennis) of Bonaire, Johnie L. Madry, Jr. of Warner Robins and Vicki N. Wechsler (Douglas) of Bonaire; grandchildren, Sabrina Lore (Travis), Joshua Oakes (Amanda), Zachary and Aaron Wechsler and Harlie Madry; great-grandchildren, Preston Oakes and Abagail Lore; sister, Florene Roberts of Huntsville, Alabama; several adoring nieces and nephews; and special companion, "Beau."
Visitation will be Sunday, April 3rd from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 4th at Southside Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Walls and the Rev. Randall Nash officiating. Following the service, Mr. Madry will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
The family will accept flowers or donations may be given in memory of Johnie to Southside Baptist Church Missions Fund, 1040 S. Houston Lake Road, Warner Robins, GA 31088 or to the Alzheimer's Association, 886 Mulberry Street, Macon, GA 31201.
