Johnnie O. Bell, Jr.

June 4, 1920 — October 27, 2010

Macon – Johnnie Olen Bell, Jr., 90, entered into rest on October 27, 2010. Mr. Bell was born on June 4, 1920 in Savannah. With pride and honor he served in the United States Army during World War II where he was awarded the Bronze Star and a Purple Heart. He was a retired Maintenance Supervisor at Robins Air Force Base. Mr. Bell was of the Baptist faith; he also belonged to the Masonic Lodge. His wife, Hazel Mary Bell, and parents, John O. Bell, Sr. and Effie M. Bell, preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his sons, John O. Bell, III (Charlene), Byron, Laurence Bell (Sue), Valdosta; sisters, Evelyn Daniels and Thelma Lyons; grandchildren, John R. Bell (Kimberly), Shawn Bell (Cassie), Jeffery Bell (Angela); and three great-grandchildren, Harleigh, Savannah and Anslea Bell.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 29, 2010 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home, Dr. Charles Michael Blizzard officiating. Inurnment will follow in Andersonville National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations to Cornerstone Baptist Church, P.O. Box 3296, Macon, Georgia 31205-3296.
