December 3, 1951 — June 12, 2022

Born in Mobile, Alabama on December 3, 1951, Wayne moved to Warner Robins during his teenage years and graduated from Warner Robins High School in 1971. Directly after high school, he worked for Blue Bird Company until he was drafted into the United States Army in 1972. A veteran of the Vietnam War, Wayne was a Door Gunner and Helicopter Mechanic for the OH6. After his four-year stint in the Army, he went to Macon Technical College and earned an associate’s degree in welding and electrical systems. He then went to work at Georgia Steel in Macon while also serving in the United States Air Force Reserves where he reached the rank of Master Sergeant before retiring. He then went to work at Robins Air Force Base as a sheet metal mechanic, working on every airplane on RAFB including the C-130, C-5, F-15, and C-141. In fact, the only aircraft he didn’t work on was the C-17. Wayne retired after 30 years. An avid fisherman and hunter, Wayne was passionate about riding motorcycles and his Corvette.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Waynick and Irma Jean Sweeney Cunningham.
