Joseph Allen Slemp

Joseph A. Slemp died at his residence and entered into rest on Tuesday, December 9, 2008.

Mr. Slemp was born on June 19, 1931 in Butler, Tennessee. A retired machinist, he was an avid gardener and horticulturist as well as a history buff and great outdoorsman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel V. Slemp and Lucy Ann Cable Slemp, and his brother, Jimmie L. Slemp.

His memory will forever be treasured by his daughter, Amy M. Rodarte (Anthony), Herndon, Virginia; granddaughter, Mikayla Olivia Rodarte, Herndon, Virginia; sister, Bess Prichard (Dennis), Warner Robins; brothers, Ed Slemp, Bossier City, Louisiana; Ray Slemp, San Antonio, Texas; Ben Slemp, Jonesboro, Tennessee and former spouse Juanita B. Slemp.

A memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 13, 2008, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home, Dr. Kelly Pritchett officiating. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 804 Cherry Street, Suite A, Macon GA 31201.
