Joseph Brantley “Joe” Colvin, passed into the hands of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on the morning of Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at the age of 81.
Joe was born in Ripley, TN to the late George Decauter and Ruby Carroll Colvin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Mark Colvin; his sister, Dorothy Fine; and his brothers, Don Colvin, Marshall Colvin and Van Colvin. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps and was a brick mason by trade. Additionally, Joe was an avid junk collector, fixer-upper and cook by hobby. Wesleyan Drive Baptist Church was his church home.
Joe is survived by his wife of 26 years, Sydney Lynette Pinholster Colvin; sons, Donald Dru Colvin (Monette) of Memphis, TN, and Jay and Michael Colvin, both of Savannah, GA; brother, Carl Colvin (Trudie) of Louisville, KY; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Joe will be laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery on Saturday, April 16, 2022, at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor Mike Gibbs officiating. His family will receive friends at the cemetery one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Joe to Wesleyan Drive Baptist Church, 939 Wesleyan Drive, Macon, GA 31210.
