Joseph Edward Pupek, Sr., 81, passed away peacefully at his home on the evening of October 11, 2017
Joe was born on February 9, 1936, in Dorchester, Massachusetts to the late Alexander and Mary Polaski Pupek. He proudly served his country with honor and valor as a petroleum inspector in the United States Air Force where he attained the rank of Tech Sergeant. During his military career, he fought in both the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam Conflict among other areas where he served. A loving and devoted husband, father, and friend, he also enjoyed his time spent as a member of the Moose Lodge and the local VFW. He was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Cathy “Vita” McRae Pupek.
His memory will forever be treasured by his children, Joseph E. Pupek, Jr. (Yvonne) of Florence, Alabama, Debbie Peoples (Jammie) of Kathleen, Mike Pupek (Alice) of Byron, and Kathy Pupek of Byron; his grandchildren, Ricky, Brandy, Nicholas, Mira, Lauren, and Alicia; his great-grandchildren, Madison, Becca, Christopher, and Zoe; and his siblings, Tom Pupek, Al Pupek, Mary Ann Pupek, and John Pupek, all of Massachusetts.
Visitation with Joe’s family will be Saturday, October 14, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. The funeral service celebrating his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 15, 2017, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with Monsignor Fred Nijem and Reverend Todd Shearin officiating. Following the service, Joe will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife in Magnolia Park Cemetery with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggest that love offerings be made to Hospice Care Options, 306 N. Davis Drive, Suite C, Warner Robins, Georgia 31093.
