Joseph Virgil ''Joe'' Smarr, Jr.

Joseph Virgil "Joe" Smarr, Jr., 61, entered into rest on Saturday, July 5, 2014.

Joe was born on October 13, 1952 in Savannah, Georgia. He retired from Robins Air Force Base after many years as an Engineer. Joe had many hobbies and interests including golfing, fishing, tinkering with watches, and Georgia Tech Football. His favorite pastime was playing in the field with his chocolate lab, Morgan.

His beloved wife, Terese Christine Smarr; and parents, Joseph Smarr, Sr. and Mary Mastopoulos Smarr, preceded him in death.

Joe's memory will forever be treasured by his daughters, Rebecca C. Smart (Brad) of Warner Robins, Georgia and Abigail D. Smarr of Atlanta, Georgia; grandchildren, Reilly and Sean Moriarty, and Jackson Smart; sisters, Georgia Strozyck (John) of West Long Branch, New Jersey and Susan C. Smarr, M.D., F.A.C.O.G. (Bill Gatcomb) of Los Gatos, California; and several loving nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at McCullough Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2014. A graveside funeral service will follow at 1:30 p.m. in Magnolia Park Cemetery with interment immediately following. Reverend Jeff Cleghorn will officiate.
