In the early morning hours of Thursday, May 19, 2016, 94 year old, Josephine Davis passed away peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior.
Josephine was born on August 25, 1921 in Watertown, Tennessee to the late Jessie and Clara Nettles Durham. She was a devoted wife and homemaker, always caring for her husband and children's needs. Josephine was a member of Byron Baptist Church and the Gleaners Sunday School Class. She was very active in the church and Sunday school classes. Josephine taught the Pre-teen Sunday School Class for many years at Pine Forrest Baptist Church. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening and spending time with her beloved family.
Along with her parents, her loving husband of 47 years, Lewis Melton Davis, Sr., preceded her in death.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her son, Lewis Melton Davis, Jr. of Eatonton; daughter, Gina Davis Cooper (Joe) of Centerville; grandchildren, Jennifer Trussell (Brandon), Jension Carroll (Will), Ben Davis, Sydney Davis, and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation with Josephine's family will be Saturday, May 21, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of McCullough. After the service, Josephine will be laid to rest next to her husband, the late Lewis Melton Davis, Sr. in Parkway Memorial Cemetery.
