Josephine Ricarte Freeberg, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, June 15, 2023, at the age of 79. Her departure has left a void in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Josephine was born on December 23, 1943, in Iloilo Capiz, Philippines, to the late Frocesso Ricarte and Soledad Ricarte. After completing her high school education, she pursued further studies in secretarial work and dressmaking. Her skills led her to a secretarial position with the city of Iloilo Capiz. It was there that she met her husband, and together they started a family. Eventually, they moved to Salisbury, NC, where Josephine worked at a clothing factory. Later, they settled in Warner Robins, GA, where Josephine dedicated herself to raising her family and building a loving home. Prior to that, she had been employed at Stalnaker Plastics in Warner Robins.
Josephine will be remembered for her unwavering love and devotion to her family. She found immense joy in her role as a wife, mother, and grandmother. Her children, Isabell Reyes, Ragnar C. Freeberg III, Kristin Greene (Ron), Andrew Freeberg, and Cinthia Freeberg, were the center of her world. She delighted in cooking large meals for her family and creating lasting memories around the dining table. Josephine also had a passion for travel. Her love for jewelry was well known. Additionally, she shared a deep affection for her pets, providing them with love and care throughout the years.
Josephine was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Ragnar Carl Freeberg. She leaves behind a legacy that will forever be treasured by her children, grandchildren—Chin-Lee Krirat, Joseph Fox, Diego Reyes, Carlie Elaine Greene, and Rylee Carolanne Greene—and her siblings, Zurayda "Dely" Wise and Thelma Rooks.
