A dearly beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, Joshua Allen Morstad passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 11, 2021, at Grady Memorial Hospital. He was 39 years old.
A Middle Georgia native, Josh was born on June 16, 1982, in Macon. He was the son of Joan Marie Kimsey Kilgore and the late William Allen Morstad. Josh proudly graduated from Windsor Academy in 2000. With a strong work ethic and a gifted mind, he went on to become an exceptional Engineer. For the past 20 years, Josh implemented cutting-edge technology for Norfolk Southern. In his spare time, he enjoyed being outdoors, especially when hunting, fishing, or grilling. An amazing father and a talented athlete, Josh loved nothing more than playing sports with his children, especially golf. He had a fierce love for his family and always made sure they were cared for. Above all, Josh put his faith in Jesus Christ and was a faithful member of Southside Baptist Church. In his last selfless act on earth, Josh gave many of his organs so that others may live.
His memory will forever be treasured by his adoring wife of four years, Sydney Talton Morstad; children, Layton, Landon, Langston, Talton Morstad; and unborn son, Joshua Mills Morstad, due on September 7, 2021; mother and step-father, Joan and Karl Kilgore; brother, Billy Morstad; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Neal and Ginger Talton; brother-in-law and sister-in-law; Tal and Amanda Talton; grandfather-in-law, Cullen Talton; as well as countless cousins, nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, and extended family members and friends.
Visitation with Josh’s family will be Wednesday, July 14, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at Southside Baptist Church.
The funeral service celebrating his life will follow at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Jerry Walls and Pastor Jacob Green officiating. Josh’s inurnment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Joshua Allen Morstad to Southside Baptist Church Missionary Fund or to South Baptist Church Building Fund at 1040 S. Houston Lake Road, Warner Robins, Georgia 31088.
