Joy Mansfield, 78, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 23, 2017.
Joy was born on June 8, 1938 in Selma, Alabama to the late S.D. and Earline Filbert. Following high school, she married the love of her life, Frank Mansfield. Joy was a devoted homemaker who always cared for her husband and children's needs. Once her children were older, she went to work for the Epilepsy Association of Georgia in the telemarketing for donations department. Joy loved to help others and devoted her life to doing just that. In 1971, Joy along with her family, moved to Warner Robins, which they have called home ever since. She was a member of Green Acres Baptist Church.
Along with her parents, Joy was preceded in death by her son, Randall Frank Mansfield and brother, Joe Filbert.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her loving husband of 60 years, Frank E. Mansfield and daughter, Rachell Davis both of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Sheree Miller (Danny), Ricky Davis, Jr. (Kelly); great-grandchildren, Angela Miller, Dixie Miller, Hannah Davis, Cheyanne Davis, Ella Davis, Ricky Davis, III; sister, Wynell Stokes of Linden, Alabama; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
A memorial service to celebrate Joy's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 3, 2017 Green Acres Baptist Church with visitation one hour prior.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Joy Filbert Mansfield to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 152 N. Crest Blvd. #C, Macon, GA 31210.
