PLEASE NOTE STREAMING UPDATE: The service for Joy Irwin Land will be streamed live from the Central Baptist Church Warner Robins website at www.centralwr.com/live

Joy Irwin Land went home to Jesus April 8th, 2021 at age 90. She leaves a legacy of strong faith in Jesus, her Lord and Savior. She was a member of Central Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and was a founder of the Warner Robins Breast Cancer Support Group. Joy wore many hats in her life – Bible Study teacher, City Council Woman, Senior Olympian, land developer, author, and realtor – but her most treasured role was prayer warrior for her family.

Joy was born in Birmingham, Alabama to Nancy and Orrie Walker Irwin. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Niles, parents, and beloved siblings, Frances, Orrie Jr., Marilyn, and Anne.
Joy met her husband Niles Land as a freshman at Alabama Polytechnic Institute, now Auburn University, and was married two years later on September 9th, 1950. She was a loving wife to Niles for 48 years. Joy and Niles went on to have four children - Tracy Brabner (Philip), Kim Roberts (Ed), Jackson Land (Teddie) and Kelly Moore (Kirby). They moved to Warner Robins in 1963.

Joy was always there to encourage and pray for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Joy refers to her grandchildren – Carrie Olsson, Michael Green, Caroline Rose, Claire Rozick, Clark Green, Spencer Green, Amelia Johnson, Niles Roberts, McKenzie Peevy and Avery Roberts – as “her heart.” She also leaves her legacy of faith to nine cherished great grandchildren.

Family visitation will be at McCullough Funeral Home, Warner Robins, Sunday, April 11th from 5-7. The Memorial Service for Joy will be at 1:00 on Monday, April 12th at Central Baptist Church. Graveside services will follow at Parkway Memorial Gardens.
For friends unable to attend at this time, the service will be streamed live via the McCullough Funeral Home Facebook page at www.facebook.com/mcculloughfuneralhome/live/.
