Joyce Deaton Thompson

Joyce Deaton Thompson, 69, entered into rest on Monday, August 22, 2011.

Ms. Thompson was born on October 2, 1941 in Jeff Davis County, Georgia. She was of the Baptist faith. After retiring from the Army Surplus Store, she became a loving homemaker. Joyce loved her family and was devoted to caring for her sister for the past several years. Her parents, Herman and Blanche Deaton, and sister, Betty Deaton Mincey, preceded her in death.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her adoring sons, Greg Thompson (Elizabeth), Christopher Eugene Thompson, and Andrew Thompson, all of Macon; grandchildren, Zachary, Sydney, Tony, and Leah Thompson; sister, Eva Carter, Macon; and brother, Gene Deaton, Ohio.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Wesley United Methodist Church, Macon. Burial will be private.
