Joyce D. Long entered into eternal rest on the afternoon of Tuesday, February 13, 2018. She was 79.
Joyce was born on May 16, 1938 in Dodge County, Georgia, daughter of the late Zelotis E. Dunlap and Ruth Evans Dunlap Hendrix. Soon after graduating from Dodge County High School, she married the love of her life, Jimmy, and moved to Macon, Georgia where she spent most of her life. Mrs. Long enjoyed being a dedicated wife and mother to her family, and also retired from Beltone after several years as a secretary. She was a very faithful member of Congregational Holiness Church in Gresston and Macon where she was a Sunday School teacher, as well. Joyce also attended Christian Hope in Warner Robins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Joyce’s memory will forever be treasured by her loving husband of 60 years, Jimmy Long of Perry; children, Debra Greer (Steve) of Perry, Chris Long (Debbie) of Loganville, and Kevin Long (Shannon) of Macon; grandchildren, Daniel, Crystal, Kelly, Kristen, Briana, Austin, and Andrew; great-grandchildren, Landon, Aubrey, and Micah; sister, Mary Cain of Richmond Hill, Georgia; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Sunday, February 18, 2018, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Joyce will be laid to rest in Gresston Cong Holiness Church Cemetery in Gresston, Georgia at 4:00 p.m.
