Joyce Thomas Cleghorn, born on December 22, 1935 in Fitzgerald, Georgia to the late Quincy and Mary Haddock Thomas, was reunited with her beloved husband, James Perry Cleghorn, in Heaven, on Friday, October 1, 2021.
Joyce was a wonderful cook having retired from the Houston County Board of Education with several years as a food assistant. Her love for God always came first and she was sure to instill her faith in her three children as they grew. Joyce dearly loved her family and was proud to see the adults they had become and the families they were raising. She was also a longtime, faithful member of First Baptist Church of Centerville and the Shirley Strickland Sunday school class. Joyce’s devout love for God and her family will forever be remembered by all who knew her.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving children, James Kenneth Cleghorn (Ellen) of Warner Robins, Michael Dean Cleghorn of Byron and Wanda Kaye Segraves (Mike) of Fort Valley; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Joyce will be laid next to her husband, James, in Centerville Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 3, 2021, with Reverend Don Feezor officiating.
