Juanita “Nita” Cleghorn, 61, entered into rest on Sunday, May 7, 2023.
Nita was born on May 5, 1962, in Hawkinsville, Georgia to the late Ernest and Anis Howell. She had a zest for life and never met a stranger. She worked for the Houston County Board of Education in school nutrition, but more recently worked as a teller for Sunmark Community Bank. She was a health-conscious person who loved exercise of any kind, but particularly playing tennis and walking. In her free time, she enjoyed being outside, reading, and spending time with her daughter and granddaughter.
In addition to her parents, Nita was preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie Cleghorn and brother, Eugene Howell.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her children, Casey Jean Cleghorn (Thomas) and Ron Cleghorn (Brittney); grandchildren, Emma Morgan, Avery Cleghorn and Jovi Cleghorn; siblings, Kenneth Howell (Cheryl), Hilda Walters, and Wayne Howell (Karen); nieces and nephews, Angela Curtis McDermott, Jennifer Chambers, Kevin Howell (Joy), Scott Howell (Tami), McKesia Fox (B.J.), Jim Prince, and Jordan Howell, Taylor Howell (Jordan); and life-long friend, Pam Cumbie.
The family would like to send a special thank you to Agape Hospice and the nurses who held her hand during this difficult time, particularly Renee, Kylee, Rena, Jay, and Jamie.
A memorial gathering to celebrate the life of Nita Cleghorn will be Sunday, May 21, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A memorial service will immediately follow at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home.
