Juanita Smith Sipes, 69, was rehabilitating from complications of Lewey Bodies in a Hawkinsville facility when on Tuesday, November 4, 2008, she found permanent peaceful rest with her Lord and Savior.
Born and raised in Dodge County, she is the daughter of the late Ernest and Willie Bell Smith, and wife to Herbert James Sipes for forty-five years. She loved her community, and had been an active member at Southside Baptist Church. She loved people and passionately sought avenues to serve by sitting with the elderly, sharing nutrition guidance, and completing a nursing degree. Her joy was to testify of God's faithfulness.
She is survived by her patient husband and care-giver, Herbert Sipes; her children and their spouses, James and Kathy Sipes, Belvidere, New Jersey; Angela and Walter Arroyo, Birmingham, Alabama; Johnny and Andrea Sipes, Warner Robins; Deborah and Bill Priest, Cordele; thirteen grandchildren; and siblings, Bobbye Coody, Eleanor Jennings and Hudson Smith, all Eastman.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 6, 2008, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, November 7, 2008, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home, Reverend Randall Nash officiating. Interment will follow in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
