Judy Echols Youmans, 67, entered into rest on Wednesday, August 23, 2023.
Judy was born on April 10, 1956, in Thomaston, Georgia and relocated to Warner Robins, Georgia the same year. After participating in the school chorus for the duration of her school career, she graduated from Warner Robins High School. From there, she attended both Middle Georgia College and The Georgia College & State University, graduating with a master’s degree in special education. Judy became a teacher, touching the lives of children across middle Georgia at various schools such as Northside High School, Houston County High School, and her alma mater, Warner Robins High School. Judy ended her rewarding career by working at the Houston County Board of Education office before retiring in 2013. From 2011 to 2020, Judy was the original executive director at the Heart of Georgia DDM, where she faithfully served. She was a long-time member of First United Methodist Church where she worked closely with the music ministry. She was also very active at one time in the Warner Robins Pilot Club. In her free time, she enjoyed camping and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Her father, Leon E. Echols, Jr., preceded her in death.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her husband of 43 years, Eugene Franklin Youmans; sons, Jason Michael Youmans (fiancé, Torie Chipman), and Ryan Matthew Youmans (Logan Kemper); grandchildren, Asher Youmans, Evangeline Youmans, Stella Youmans, Daylen Kate Youmans, Savannah Gene Youmans, and Brixton Byrd Randall Youmans; mother, Helen Echols; brother Leon “Lee” Echols (Kim); along with several nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and friends.
Visitation will be Friday, August 25, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A second visitation will be held Saturday, August 26, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Warner Robins with a funeral service to immediately follow at 3:00 p.m. Afterward, Judy will be laid to rest in Parkway Memorial Gardens.
