Warner Robins native, Judy Walker Wilbanks, was born on November 6, 1953 to the late Ralph Andy and Jewell Annie Walker. We are deeply saddened to announce that she passed away on the morning of Monday, April 3, 2023, at the age of 69.
A proud 1971 graduate of Warner Robins High School, Judy was a devoted Demons fan who loved her alma mater. She retired having dedicated many years of Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base, but was always a mom first and foremost. It was evident that Judy loved her girls wholeheartedly and would do anything in her power to make them happy. When her girls were old enough to join the Girl Scouts, she was thrilled to share her own experiences with the Girl Scouts as she served as a leader for their troops growing up. Judy was also a wonderful grand and great-grandmother; she truly loved, loved, LOVED her children, grands and great-grands!
On top of spending time with her family, Judy was an arts and crafts fanatic who even made her own house décor. She also loved hunting, fishing and following all of the NASCAR races. A motorcycle enthusiast, she enjoyed riding with her family on her tri-glide as a member of the Southern Cruisers Riding Club. Judy and her husband, Jack, traveled the whole United States and was elated to have completed everything on her bucket list. She loved going to church and participating with her family in Civil War reenactments, as well.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 42 years, Jack Wilbanks; and her grandson, Jack Jones.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving daughters, Jennifer M. Wilbanks and Juanita A. Barfield; grandchildren, Crystal L. Barfield, Edward D. Jones and Christopher J. Barfield; great-grandchildren, Hannah Hester, Dixie Barfield, Jayda Ward, Neveah Ward and DeWayne Jones; and sister, Gail Williams.
A memorial service celebrating Judy’s life will take place on Friday, April 7, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home, with Pastor Bruce Brookshire officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
