Julia Irene Bennett, born on December 23, 1962 in Warner Robins, GA to the late Dessaw and Virginia Bennett, passed away on the morning of Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at the age of 60. She is gone but will never be forgotten.
Growing up, Julia loved learning and excelled in school which afforded her the opportunity to work in Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base. She was a great lover of nature, wildlife, birds and dogs. Each day, Julia enjoyed watching deer and other animals who visited the front yard. Additionally, she was musically talented and often sang while she worked; it was rare for her to not know the name of a song or a significant performer at any given time. Julia faced a lot of difficulties throughout her life with courage, optimism and determination. It was these qualities that allowed her to be a wonderful caregiver to her mother, sisters and brother over the years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Gene Bennett and John Timothy Bennett.
Those left to cherish her memory are her siblings, Duard, Donna and Ann Bennett, all of Fort Valley; and her faithful dog, Charlotte.
Visitation for Julia’s friends and family will take place from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Monday, March 27, 2023, at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home, with Pastor Marty Watson officiating.
