Karen Marie Adams, 66, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 28, 2023. Her final days were spent surrounded by her family and loved ones in the comfort of her own home.
Born Karen Marie Fleming on June 6, 1956 in Johnstown, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Susan Litzinger Fleming. She graduated from Central Cambria High School in Ebensburg, PA, and happily married the love of her life, Ray. Karen went on to receive a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Lower Columbia College in Longview, WA and applied her natural gift of helping others to countless patients over the years. In 1991, Ray and Karen relocated their family to Perry where she fulfilled a long and rewarding career as a nurse at Houston Healthcare before retiring. A faithful member of First Christian Church of Perry, Karen enjoyed reading, biking, hiking, singing and going to the mountains, but spending time with her family was what made her happiest.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 47 years, Ray Adams of Perry, GA; children, Sonya Marie Adams of Fayetteville, GA, and Ryan Michael Adams (Miranda) of Stockton, GA; grandchildren, Brandon Blanchette (Saleena), Ella Marie Blanchette, Taylor Browning (Candler), Jenna M. Adams, R.J. Adams and Cody Adams; siblings, John Fleming (Joyce), James Fleming, Barbara Smay and Rhonda Foltz, all of PA, Berry Fleming of DC, Eileen Dumm (Carl) of PA and Alice Pounds of FL.
A memorial service celebrating Karen’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at First Christian Church of Perry with Pastor Tyler Winn officiating. Her family will receive friends at the church prior to the service.
