Karen Thompson Sumner

Karen Thompson Sumner, 64, passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2015.

Karen was born on May 24, 1950 in Americus, Georgia to the late William and Lora Helms Thompson. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church for many years. Karen worked in management at Robins Air Force Base until her retirement. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing, bowling, and more than anything spending time with her family.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her adoring husband of 46 years, Wade Lewis Sumner; sons, Mike Sumner (Donna) of Cumming, BJ Sumner (Jennifer) of Mesa, Arizona; grandchildren, Cody, Jonathan, Mick, and Ty; siblings, Keith Thompson (Carolyn) of Warwick, Lynn Griffith (Gary) of Byron, Sylvia Spradley of Cordele; several nieces and nephews; and many other family members.

Visitation will be Friday, May 1, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2015 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Walls and Pastor Randall Nash officiating. A private interment will be held at a later date in Parkway Memorial Gardens.
