Kay Surface passed away on May 16, 2022 after a six-month-long battle with brain cancer.
Kay was born on December 31, 1964 in Seoul, South Korea. She grew up in Warner Robins, Georgia, and graduated from Warner Robins High School in 1983. Kay attended UGA, Georgia State University, and North Georgia University, receiving degrees in Hotel, Restaurant and Travel Administration and Accounting. Kay spent her adult years in Atlanta, Georgia. She is survived by her childhood sweetheart, Jim. They had recently celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary.
Kay was the daughter of the late Colonel Grady Reese and the late Ms. Alice Reese of Warner Robins. She is survived by her sisters, Pat Milam and Janet Reese Padula (Greg); her brothers, Grady “Butch” Reese Jr. (Mary Belle) and James Reese (Dana); and many nieces and nephews.
Kay loved to run, play tennis, and take long walks on the beach with Jim at her favorite place, Kiawah Island, South Carolina. Kay was a devoted follower of Christ, and will now receive her eternal weight of glory promised in 2 Corinthians 4:17.
Kay will be dearly missed, but is now, finally at peace and in the presence of her Savior.
Visitation is from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Friday May 20, 2022 at McCullough Funeral Home in Warner Robins. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday May 20, 2022 at Parkway Memorial Gardens in Warner Robins, GA.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made in Kay’s honor to the Kiawah Island Conservancy at www.kiawahconservancy.org.
