On the morning of Saturday, October 23, 2021, Kaye F. Sorensen, 69, entered into rest.
Kaye was born on May 31, 1952, in Tampa, Florida to Norman K. Funk and the late Patricia Byrd Funk. She was a doting wife, mother and grandmother that took care of everyone. Kaye enjoyed watching the Georgia Bulldogs, Atlanta Falcons, her crime shows, and she loved to read, even on vacation. She enjoyed entertaining and baking for her family, especially at Christmas time. Her puppy, Lola, was one of her children and treated accordingly. Loyal to Northside High school, Kaye was a dedicated band mom and was also involved with assisting Alzheimer’s support groups. Kaye was loved by many but enjoyed spending time with her “girls’ group” and vacationing at her favorite spot, Hilton Head Island.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her adoring husband of thirty-six years, David Sorensen; children, Keith Misiak (Shannon), Gene Misiak (Jennifer), and Kimberly Sorensen; four grandchildren; siblings, Julie Abbott and Kenneth Funk (Terri) and father, Norman Funk.
Visitation with Kaye’s family will be Saturday, October 30, 2021, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home with memorial services following in the chapel. For friends and family unable to attend, the service will be streamed live via the McCullough Funeral Home Facebook page at www.facebook.com/mcculloughfuneralhome/live/.
