Kaylene Sue "Kay" Tierce

After a second bout with cancer, Kaylene Sue “Kay” Tierce went on to be with the Lord, receiving her ultimate healing, on Friday, May 27, 2022 at 2:36 p.m., in her home surrounded by her family.

Kay was born on September 28, 1969, in Santa Clara, California, to Larry and Earlene Johnson. Kay was the youngest of three children. From a young age, she was a selfless and caring individual. Kay met the love of her life in Caruthers, CA, and they tied the knot on November 5, 1988. The couple went on to have three beautiful children and were blessed to celebrate 33 years of marriage together.

Kay was employed by Houston Medical Center and was a hardworking, strong, and loving daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved fiercely and endlessly. Despite the many challenges and obstacles placed in her path, she stood strong in her faith and trusted in God’s plan.

She leaves behind her husband, Kevin Tierce; her kids, Ethan Tierce, Kylie McHugh, and Hayley Stripling; her parents, Larry and Earlene Johnson; and her siblings, Lance Johnson and Kim East.

Visitation with Kay’s family and friends will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 2, 2022, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Afterward, Kay will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery. The family has invited everyone to join them in celebrating her life and having victory in Jesus Christ.
