Keith Garrett Widener, 65, of Warner Robins, Georgia, passed away on February 15, 2025. He was born in Aiken, South Carolina, on December 6, 1959, to Lynwood Widener, Sr. and June Garrett Widener.
Keith was a man of many talents and passions. After graduating high school, he proudly served in the Georgia National Guard. In the 1970s, Keith’s love for music led him to play drums and sing with the Gospel Ambassadors of Macon, Georgia. He continued to pursue his passion for gospel music in the 1980s, singing and playing drums with the Singing Witnesses. Additionally, Keith shared his vibrant personality with the airwaves as a DJ at WFNE, Solid Gospel 100 in Forsyth, Georgia, during that time.
In the later years of his career, Keith found fulfillment as an independent, self-employed truck driver, a role he retired from after many dedicated years. He was known for his unwavering commitment to his work and his family. Keith was deeply family-oriented, always prioritizing the well-being and happiness of those he loved.
Keith was more than just a family man; he was a friend to everyone he met. His infectious cheerfulness and kind heart made him a beloved figure in his community. He was always available to lend a helping hand, and his generosity knew no bounds. His love for people and for gospel music shaped a life that will be remembered by all who knew him.
His memory will forever be treasured by his wife, Christina Weatherley Widener of Warner Robins, Georgia; parents, Lynwood L. Widener, Sr. and June Garrett Widener of Macon, Georgia; siblings, Tonya Nations of Hiram, Georgia, Lynwood Widener, Jr. (Rhonda Tucker) of Warner Robins, Georgia, Shyrl Anderson of Cumming, Georgia, Lynda Fullmoore (Tony Fullmoore) of Lizella, Georgia; in-laws, Clifton D. Weatherley of Edinburg, Texas, Cheryl Eaton of Hartwell, Georgia, John Weatherley (Kayla) of Walla Walla, Washington, Mark Weatherley of St. Clair Shores, Michigan; mother-in-law, Florence Yoder Weatherley of Canton, Georgia; and many beloved nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at McCullough Funeral Home, with a memorial service immediately following in the chapel. Afterward, Keith will be laid to rest privately.
