Kenneth Eishi Yasuda Jr. left this earthly realm on February 5, 2021. Born on July 15, 1983, in Rochester, NY, he was the son of Ken (now deceased) and Martha. He is survived by his faithful wife, Shelby, and children, Reina and Elijah of Warner Robins, GA. Additional cherished family members include his mother, Martha Yasuda of Atlanta, GA; sister, Hannah Windham (Jacob) of Saraland, AL, aunts, Naomi Castro (John) of Lakeland, FL and Linda Lewis of San Ramon, CA, and uncle, Ted Yasuda of Chicago (Elaine Seigel). Cousins include Israel, Asher and Josiah Windham, Tomio Castro, Toshiko and Myles Yasuda. His cherished family members that accompany his wife’s family include his mother-in-law, Helen Calhoun (now deceased); father-in-law, Bobby Calhoun; brother-in-law, Rodney Lee; and a host of other uncles and aunts, including the Lee family descendants.
Ken, also known as Kenny, was a free spirit, attaining a high school education, with further studies not appealing to him. He was a natural researcher who studied the Bible and other materials in order to be able to speak to the issues and challenges faced in the world we live in. He was a very successful customer service representative and salesman at various points during his life, attaining awards and recognition in ALL of his occupational ventures.
However, his real passion was spoken word and hip hop/rap. His poetic and MC giftings were and will be enjoyed by many, with his God-breathed words touching the hearts of many, most deeply. He took his artistry seriously and worked diligently to perfect his timing and delivery. He was a perfectionist. As a result, he was hired to create videos by Buckhead Church and Northpoint in Atlanta, also performing at Destinations for over 10 years (Destiny Metropolitan Worship Center). He was also a regular at ELEVATIONS Church and performed there frequently. He impacted many with his spontaneous insight and thought-provoking messages.
Ken was an amazing artist who truly loved helping fellow artists to develop their skills and talents. He was a great encourager, stimulating artistic growth for both the amateur as well as the professional.
Ken’s life will be celebrated at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, February 12th at Refuge Community Church, 4699 Ewing Rd. Austell, GA.
